Up Mission Statement The Hotshop The Coldshop Program Costs

The Hotshop

The ACC hotshop is spacious and well-equipped, offering full capabilities for handblown, slumped, and limited-scale casting.  Over the years, Curtiss Brock has mastered the difficult challenges of designing and building state-of-the-art glass equipment, including gas-fired glass furnaces and glory holes, and electric annealing and slumping ovens.  This equipment is constructed with the best materials and highest standards of design and craftsmanship.  Advanced students in the Glass Program become involved in the construction and maintenance of the equipment, providing valuable practical knowledge and experience available in few other academic glass programs.
