janfigures.jpg (84131 bytes) Jan (pronounced "Yan") Piotr Ledwon is an internationally recognized, award-winning, self-taught wood carver. In the kitchen of his apartment, in the city of Bielsko-Biala in southern Poland, he carves sensitive, free-standing and wall-mounted figures and signs. He uses around 20 different chisels to carve his pieces from dry linden wood. They are finished with either shellac or wax. His expressive sculptures can be found in many international collections.
