Maya Reproductions

Rodrigo and Patricia Martin create beautiful reproductions of pre-Columbian art. Prices begin at two hundred dollars. Rodrigo also carves wonderful stone stele, jade, and wood. The studio and showroom are located in front of their restaurant in the town of Muna, which is between Merida and Uxmal. It is definitely worth the trip!

A quartz pebble is used to burnish an unfired pot.	Patricia paints slip onto a cylindrical vessel.	The pots are placed on a metal grill and fired in this wood-firing updraft kiln.
