Los Leñateros Studio
Los Leñateros has been operating as a papermaking, printmaking, and artist books cooperative studio and store for over 25 years. The books feature original art, stories, and poetry. |
La Jícara (The Gourd) is a literary codex that the cooperative produces as a series. |
To produce the paper, natural plant fibers are cooked and rinsed, then blended with recycled paper. |

The paper pulp is then cast in molds or pressed onto metal sheets and dried in the sun. |

The handmade paper is transformed into colorful posters, cards, and books with silk screens and relief-blocks. |
