Conducted Masters-level research at the fully-equipped Environmental
Laboratory and at the Computer-based Learning Centre (CBLC). Troubleshooting
of Conventional and Cyclic Activated Sludge Systems with foaming and bulking
problems through Operations Research and Computer Modelling and Optimization.
Executed the conceptual development and feasibility study of a Three-tiered
Intelligent Expert System for Automatic Control of Sequencing Batch Reactor
Bulking treating high-strength industrial waste (COD> 3000 mg/l).

Involved with IEE (Initial Environmental Examination) and EIA of a
Major Port Upgrading Project and the World’s 11th Longest Bridge (Jamuna
Multi-purpose Bridge) in Bangladesh. Work focused on studying the environmental
effects of dredging, river training and reclamation. Funded by the Japanese
