The ACC Fibers Program

The ACC Fibers Program provides the student with a strong foundation in weaving and surface design including color, pattern, designing for woven or hand printed fabrics, and methods and materials. Sequential courses explore, in increasing depth, traditional and contemporary methods and concepts. Students are challenged to explore individual form and content while continually honing their knowledge and skills in fiber applications. The goal is the creative, conceptual and professional development of the fibers student in a nurturing and challenging environment.

The Fibers facility covers a 7.500 square foot area above Center Hill Lake, and is flooded with natural and artificial light.  It is composed of a large weaving room, a well-vented surface design studio and dye kitchen, a darkroom, critique room, and semi-private studio areas for upper-level students.

For information on specialized facilities and equipment, go to Surface Design, Weaving, or Papermaking.  For additional information, contact Jeanne Brady.
