office hits of all time.
Layout Artist
Responsibilities:
- Animate final cameras with a skilled eye for realistic camera motion.
- Set dress shots based upon key artwork, working with the Art Directors
to achieve the desired aesthetic for the set.
- Ensure set dress continuity among shots.
- Support the shots through character animation and lighting, answering
questions and solving problems that occur as each of these groups begin
their work on the shots.
- Perform rough layout duties (shot design and character blocking) as
needed, as artists may be shared between rough and final layout.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and 1-2 years in feature film or television
production, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred training in and/or strong demonstrable understanding of the
principles of film and art.
- Expertise in scene, shot, camera, and character composition.
- Exposure to modeling, lighting, and texturing preferred.
- Strong knowledge of terminology and techniques used in film, animation
and visual effects including knowledge of photography and camera lenses.
- Demonstrated expertise using Maya or similar 3D software.
- Ability to learn and use new software as needed.
- Ability to work under pressure as well as implement changes based on
input from multiple sources.
- Ability to train and peer-mentor other employees to increase skill and
proficiency.
- Ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a multi-user environment.
- Excellent organizational skills a must.
