Personal Information

I grew up in Mobile, Alabama and, therefore, spent significant parts of my formative years on the beaches of the Gulf of Mexico.  I was one of those people who definitely wanted to go to college away from home and ended up at the University of the South. Those years in Sewanee were my first exposure to the mountains, and I haven't been too far away since.  I got my B.S. in 1978 and headed to Duke University for grad school.  I finished a Masters in 1980 and my Ph.D. in experimental nuclear physics in 1983.  I spent a couple of years at Yale University and have been here at TTU since 1985.
