1. Candidates communicate and work effectively with other teacher
education candidates to solve problems and to plan strategies for meeting
students’ needs.

and supportive interaction in the classroom. The candidate understands

ATTENDANCE POLICY:
Regular Attendance for all scheduled Field Experiences is required. FOED
1820 and 1822 provide opportunities for teacher education candidates
to demonstrate
the dispositions of effective teachers. Regular attendance is an indication
of responsibility and is one of the identified/assessed dispositions
reflected in
the TTU Conceptual Framework.
PLAGIARISM POLICY:
Plagiarism, the use of another’s writing as one’s
own, is prohibited.
The Student Handbook, p. 28, item 2, explains the penalties of such an
action.
TTU OFFICE OF DISABILITY SERVICES:
Students with a disability requiring special accommodations should contact

completed as soon as possible, preferable by the end of the first week

TEACHER EDUCATION PROGRAM
Admission to Teacher Education Program required for education majors:
• On-line Application (completed approximately 30 semester
hours, not including academic development courses - 30 hours must include
ENGL 1010, ENGL
1020, and FOED 2011 or the equivalent
• PRAXIS I (Reading, Writing, Math) or ACT (minimum score 22) or SAT (minimum
score
1020) scores
• Four Disposition Ratings
• Minimum of a 2.5 Grade point average
STUDENT TEACHING
Admission to Student Teaching required for education majors:
• Completion of approved coursework
• Minimum 2.5 cumulative gpa
• Minimum 2.0 major teaching field gpa
• Passing scores on all PRAXIS II tests appropriate for licensure area
(s)
• Two Disposition Ratings
• On-line intent to student teach filed approximately 2 semesters prior
to targeted
student teaching semester
