The AAUP Forum on Public Policy

Participation in Democracy requires that citizens be well informed on governmental matters so that they can interact responsibly with their elected officials.  In the State of Tennessee, as everywhere else, there is often considerable disagreement on which actions government should take. Therefore, the AAUP Forum on Public Policy seeks to provide an opportunity for thoughtful debate on issues of public policy. We hope to promote dialogue between persons who hold opposing viewpoints, so that Tennesseans can make knowledgeable decisions as citizens.

The central questions our forum participants will discuss each year concern the proper role of government in our society.  This fall’s debate focuses on the lottery in Tennessee. Invited speakers can post a summary of their position papers on this web page. Click on Schedule of Forums for information.

All events will be held on the Tennessee Tech campus. For a map of campus buildings see: http://eagle.tntech.edu/www/gen/map/
