Administrative Service
Campus Vice President, Fort Lauderdale and Dania Beach - Florida Atlantic University. Responsible for the development and administration of three of the University’s seven locations, including community outreach and managing relationships among the university partners in Broward County area. The downtown Fort Lauderdale campus was an urban campus that emphasized graduate professional programs of the College of Business and the College of Architecture, Urban, and Public Affairs, and design programs such as Architecture and Computer Art. A new $22 million 12 story joint-use facility was completed to significantly expand and enhance the core urban campus. The Fort Lauderdale - Commercial Blvd. Campus emphasized continuing education programs and the Dania Beach campus is an Ocean Engineering research and graduate education center.
- Led restructuring of the campus budget process to integrate with the distributed university goals.
- Initiated process review plan to support the changing needs of a growing and maturing campus.
- Negotiated relationship with the City of Fort Lauderdale to provide for an improved parking system for the growing programs in the downtown, significantly improving access to the university for students and faculty.
- Enrollment growth of greater than 20% has been achieved during the last academic year.
Associate Vice President for Broward Campuses and Director of the Fort Lauderdale Campus – Florida Atlantic University. Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Fort Lauderdale Campus. Responsibilities across all four of the University’s campuses in Broward County included budget, enrollment planning, technology, facilities, and continuing education, among others. The campuses in Broward County represented four of the seven university campuses serving over 5,000 of the university’s 23,000 students and a budget of $28 million.
- New $22 million, 12-story joint-use facility completed in partnership with Broward Community College. The building is the key facility of the university’s downtown campus. It has won an excellence in design award and supports the state of the art technology needs of the College of Business and the School of Architecture.
- Negotiated university participation in an alternative plan for supporting environmental systems in the new complex, resulting in returning approximately $400,000 to the primary building program and the replacement of an aging environment system in the existing facility.
Associate Dean, College of Business – Florida Atlantic University. Responsible for graduate programs college-wide, and operations of the college at two campuses in Broward County. Broward campus responsibilities included its separate budget, personnel, facility coordination, and scheduling oversight. The college served 2,000 students in Broward County with 1,800 undergraduates at the Davie campus and over 200 graduate students at the Fort Lauderdale campus with thirty-eight fulltime faculty and a budget of $4mm. The College of Business as a whole served approximately 6,000 students with 120 faculty and a combined budget of approximately $12mm.
- Supervised development of new department of Industry Studies, including acquisition of resources for Department Chair and Director of Sport Management program.
- Facilitated faculty expansion on multiple campuses.
- Supervised expansion of student advising center and its coordination across campuses.
- College received reaffirmation of its AACSB accreditation through the Ph.D. level.
