The purpose of this web is to support non-major life science education in the laboratory at Tennessee Technological University, in Cookeville, Tennessee. Studying Science provides links to sites about study techniques that can make your work in this course more time-efficient and rewarding. Why Study Science? offers an article from Discover magazine in which Jared Diamond suggests five reasons why it is so important for the public (i.e., non-science majors) to understand science. Biology Lab pages contain illustrations, study aids, hyperlinks, keywords, and access to the Google search engine to support each of the laboratory exercises in the lab manuals for Biol 1010 and Biol 1020 at Tennessee Technological University. Rubrics include guidelines for writing lab reports, planning oral presentations, and other projects. They are the same guidelines your instructor will use to grade your work.
