Models of Mitosis

Home ] Up ]

The process of mitosis replicates the genetic material of the parent cell and distributes it among the two daughter cells. There is high fidelity of the genetic information from one generation to the next. This is:

bullethow the cell number increases as an organism grows from a single fertilized egg,
bulletpart of what happens during wound healing, and
bulletthe way tissues make repairs and compensate for normal cell attrition.
