A rubric, as the word is used in education, is an evaluation tool. A rubric is a set of specific criteria teachers use to score student work. Students can also use rubrics. If the student has a copy of the rubric the teacher will be using, the rubric becomes a set of guidelines to tell students what is expected and how the teacher will evaluate their efforts. Three rubrics are posted here to help students prepare assignments. Boxes Rubric: Your instructor will score the "Box" assignment of Biol 1010 Lab #1 according to this rubric. Presentation Rubric: this will be useful to students preparing a verbal presentation of a lab topic. Lab Report Rubric: this describes the scoring of lab reports. |
