This course provides an introduction to our TennesseeTech University community.  As a first-year student, you will learn how to find your way around the physical campus, where different offices related to student life are located and the services they offer, and how to make a successful transition to college life.  Learning to respond to the challenges and opportunities of college life involves not only academic behavior, but also the importance of social skills and respect for diverse cultural values and customs. You will learn key ways to improve your study skills, how to build social networks of friends and peers, and how to relate with faculty members.  Class requirements will involve attendance, active class participation, meeting and documenting university policies regarding sexual harassment and cultural enhancement, participating in voluntary activities with student mentor Kassi Thomas, and taking small quizzes.
