Art 4810 - Senior Thesis in Metals 3 or 6 credit hours: prerequisite consent of department Course objectives; This course will give the advanced student the opportunity and time to develop a significant body of work culminating in their thesis exhibition. Instructional plan; The student must present to the supervising faculty member a written proposal outlining the goals of their these. The student must also form a committee of three faculty members to act as their theses committee. The student is expected to keep up with their proposal. Any changes must be reported to the faculty. Out lines for exhibition requirements can be obtained in the office. Materials and tools; The studio is well equipped with basic tools which will be available to the student. Students will need to provide personal safety equipment and the materials that their work will be made from. The students will be able to include a wide range of materials as is appropriate to their individual projects. Materials and supplies may be purchased in the supply store or from other venders. Text; This will consist of research and specialized readings. Most materials can be found in our library. On occasion the faculty member may provide reading materials from their personal library. Grading and Evaluation; Grades are based on evaluation and critique of the finished project. Growth and improvement are taken into consideration. Attendance and arriving late for scheduled meetings will also affect the grade. Incomplete grades are only granted for medical situations with a doctor’s excuse in accordance with T.T.U.’s policy.
