And here's "Lars," all grown up and one of our prize, KcK-bred Norwegian Elkhounds!

CH. KCK FELONY'S GRAND LARCENY, OFA
(NSBIS Ch. Roundel's Gizmo of Vikiro and Ch. Vikiro Belle's Desert Moon)
October 1, 1987-August 21, 1999

During a relatively brief show career, Lars achieved a ranking of 7th among all Norwegian Elkhounds in the nation.  His offspring include an Award of Merit winner at the 1994 Norwegian Elkhound National Specialty, Winners Dog/Best of Winners at the 1996 National, and a daughter who was one of the most titled Norwegian Elkhounds in history!  And one of his grandsons is one of the top-ranked Elkhounds of 2003.  As illustrated by the Pet Crest shown below, Lars also had something of a modeling career.....

EPILOGUE:  Lars passed away on August 21, 1999, after nearly 12 years of life.  We will always miss him.

"Mizzy"--Lars' littermate, and the Sweetheart of KcK!

CH. KCK FELONY'S MS DEMEANOR, OFA
(NSBIS Ch. Roundel's Gizmo of Vikiro and Ch. Vikiro Belle's Desert Moon)
October 1, 1987-August 15, 2003

A Puppy Sweepstakes Winner at the 1988 Norwegian Elkhound National Specialty show, Mizzy finished her championship quickly, sometimes even beating brother Lars!  Mizzy had two litters--one with CH. BONA'S JENUINE MR. GOODWRENCH, OFA, and one with CH. VIKIRO'S SON OF A GUN, OFA.  We bid farewell to Mizzy on August 15, 2003, at nearly 16 years of age.  Although her long life was a real bonus for us, it was, nevertheless, very hard to let her go.  Without her leadership and strong voice, the daybreak howling ritual in our kennel has been reduced to a short, low-pitched chorus.

Mizzy and Lars at home
---and now, perhaps, together again........

A lovely daughter of Lars, bred by Vikiro Norwegian Elkhounds (Robert and Victoria Lawton):

CH. VIKIRO'S PARTY GIRL OF KCK, OFA
(Ch. KcK Felony's Grand Larceny and Ch. Vikiro Ruby's Ghost Dancer)
March 13, 1991 - November 1, 2007

The ruling queen over both genders in her litter, "Spirit" was aptly nicknamed when she was brought to KcK Kennels as a small puppy.  Shown here finishing her championship, her excellent body type and exuberant personality proved to be an effective combination for the show ring.  We were saddened with her passing, but after 16 years, 7 months, and 19 days of life, we also celebrate her longevity.
