February 24, 1998 - October 6, 2007

Born at KcK Kennels in February 1998, "Legend" was bred to a number of outstanding bitches.  Examples of his offspring include our own Mingo and Onyx, and his son Drummer (owned by Kelly Malone) has won numerous Herding High in Trials and was named the 2009 National Herding Victor.  Legend was awarded four major wins and finished his AKC Championship on May 20, 2001.  Our thanks to Judges Nanci Nellis, Lewis Bunch, Edwina Trocki, Charles Mardecz, Bob Funk, and Peggy Mickelson! In addition (Big Brag!), Legend won Best of Opposite Sex at the prestigious Great Lakes Regional Maturity! Many thanks to Judge Delaine Thomson!  Legend earned the HCT (Herding Capability Test) at herding trials sponsored by the AHBA. In mid-June 2005, he earned the HT title, followed that with the RN and TDI titles two months later, and capped it off with a CD on October 1, 2005.  He spent a lot of time in northern Ohio with his trainer, Kelly Malone, and we are forever indebted to Kelly for the outstanding job she did with Legend. Legend spent his last years here at KcK Kennels earning his CP (Couch Potato!) "title," and left this world on October 6, 2007.  Our hearts are heavy, but it seems clear that he was named appropriately.
