Course Description: Introduction
to Biological Methods is an entry-level course designed to provide
the student with basic knowledge needed to develop career goals and succeed
in the academic program in the Department of Biology. Participants will complete simple
exercises demonstrating that they understand concepts and basic skills
presented in lectures and computer laboratory. The lecture format will be somewhat informal, and students are
strongly encouraged to participate in class discussions. |
|
Grading: Students will be given assignments throughout the semester with a variable number of points associated with each, dependent upon the amount of work required to complete each assignment. Assignments will be graded based upon the thoroughness to which the assignment is completed (i.e., if you do everything that I ask, you will receive full credit). Assignments submitted late will have a deduction of 10% per day after the assigned date. Final
grades will be based on a 10-point scale (i.e., 90% = A, 80% = B, 70% = C,
60% = D, Below 60% = F). |
|
Attendance: Attendance in Biol 1000 (PR 320 & 211) is
required under University Policy. |
|
Accommodation Required: Students
having a disability and requiring accommodation should contact the
Coordinator of Disability Service (Box 5091) for assistance as needed. An Accommodation Request Form must be
completed and submitted to the Office of Disability Services within the first
week of the course (Forms located in Room 112 of Roaden University Center). |
