There are thousands of interesting and fun web sites for microbiologists out there. This page can be a list of your favorites - when you find a web page you like, send me its URL and a brief description and I'll add it. Here are a few to get you started.


The Microbiology Place / Bauman Microbiology

The Microbiology Place is your textbook publisher's web site. Click on the link for the Bauman text to sign in.

Kuby Immunology

This is the home page for your immunology textbook. You can find resources by chapter including vocabulary self-tests and animations of key concepts.

American Society for Microbiology (ASM)

The ASM is one of the largest professional associations in the world. It has over 30,000 members working in every branch of microbiology. This home page has links to the various specialty divisions and the Board of Publications, which is responsible for the ASM journals. All of the ASM journals are available on-line free until December 1998. You can become a student member for only $15.00 - one of the best bargains around. Student membership includes a subscription to the monthly ASM News. Check out the web site for details.

 

World Science News

A free website with fun facts about all kinds of science.   The science news website features popularized news reports on peer-reviewed research.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)

This is the CDC home page. It contains information about the centers (including jobs) and a list of publications such as the Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR) and the Biosafety Manual. Most of the publications are available in complete text versions at the web site.

World Health Organization (WHO)

This site has information about infectious diseases and other health concerns that affect the international community.


CDC PARASITOLOGY Diagnostic Web Site

This web site contains descriptions, images, and videoclips of significant human parasites. You can also read about parasitic diseases and diagnostic procedures.
